During World War One, this shop was a butcher’s run by William Parker.
Private Ralph Jonas Parker was the youngest of William’s seven children. He went out to France in August 1918 and was killed in action there on October 23rd 1918, at the Battle of the Selle. Ralph was 18 years and 8 months old and is buried in France.
